How To Slow The Aging Of Skin

“Wrinkles”. Does that word make you cringe? It certainly makes the vast majority of both men and women squirm. No one likes the idea of growing older, especially when growing older means losing what we perceive as “beauty”. Though wrinkles are ultimately unavoidable, you can keep them at bay as long as possible and keep your skin in fantastic shape with these tips below: Exfoliate Regularly
Exfoliating once a week helps get rid of those dead and dry skin cells that only dull our skin and make fine lines all the more apparent. You can choose from many exfoliating products that are out there; just make sure that you choose one that is appropriate for your skin type. For example, ay sort of chemical-based exfoliating products that contain salicylic or glycolic acid are best for those with oily or combination skin, and those with microdermabrasion properties are best for sensitive skin types.
Use an Eye Cream
It doesn’t matter if you’re 20 or 50, if you use an eye cream daily you will notice a difference between your own eye skin and those of women who do not use skin cream. The eye area is particularly important since the skin is thin and more easily damaged, which means that it is also more prone to wrinkles. Try to choose eye creams that also contain sunscreen so as to further protect your skin from wrinkles.
Quit Smoking
Apart from sun damage, there is perhaps nothing worse for your skin than smoking. Smoking restricts the blood vessels, which in turn decreases the flow of both oxygen and nutrients to the skin, so you are effectively depriving your ski of nourishment. This will only lead to your skin reflecting that depravity by appearing sullen, dull, and wrinkled.
Moisturize Always
You may have heard that moisturizers cannot actually prevent wrinkles. While that may be true, keeping your skin moisturized means that your skin appears less dry, so any fine lines and wrinkles are far less apparent. Moisturizing products also help plump ski and give it that youthful, dewy glow, something I’m sure we would all like to have.
TIP: When you moisturize your face, make sure that you also moisturize your neck and chest. Keeping these areas moisturized will also prevent them from appearing wrinkled or creased.
Do Not Rub
When ever you are touching your face in any manner, make sure that you do not rub or pull at it. This is particularly important when it comes to drying your skin after you wash it. Simply pat your skin dry with a towel and avoid rubbing it with the towel. This only puts more stress on your skin.
Forget Tanning
You may think that having a nice tanned “glow” to your skin looks good now, but ten years down the road you will be regretting lying out under the sun or in a tanning bed. There is nothing worse for your skin than UV rays when it comes to aging. If you want to expedite the aging process, then tanning is the way to go. If you want to keep your skin looking as young as possible, stay out of the sun and wear a sunscreen with an SPF of 30 every day, rain or shine.
